Customer: Innovator in integrated workflow management systems for surgery.
Project Details: The customer required a manufacturer that could take them from prototype through production for a new shelving assembly at the centerpiece of their workflow system.
Challenges: The project included prototype builds as well as several units for a large show on the West Coast to reveal the product. We worked closely with their team throughout the process. Every machine in the metal fabrication department was used, as well as a large thermoformed cover. It was a highly cosmetic part that required a high-end appliance brushed finish.
Skills Required: High precision sheet metal fabrication. We used laser, CNC machining, center automated cold saw, CNC press brakes, insertion machine, and MIG & TIG welding. We used thermoforming for the lower cover of the unit.
Results: We exceeded the customer’s expectations in both aesthetic and quality. When the units were unveiled at the show they were the buzz of the event.
We take you behind the scenes for one project each quarter. Take a look at how projects go from idea to reality.
